Next lecturer is Jack Nea who is the Legal Research Manager for the Courts Service of Ireland. In this role Jack leads the legal research support function for the Irish Judiciary (comprising of approximately 40 researchers), and directs both long and short term legal research projects undertaken by the Judicial Researchers Office.
Prior to this role, Jack worked with the Law Reform Commission of Ireland in a role which included advising a Commission comprising of esteemed Judges, academics, and legal practitioners on areas of legal reform, and undertaking and supervising legal research across a wide array of areas, including regulatory enforcement powers and criminal offending in a corporate context. Jack has also presented on these topics at conferences.
Jack is a qualified barrister and practiced at the Bar of Ireland for a number of years. During this time he advised on a diverse range of legal issues, including on areas of data protection law and police surveillance.
Jack has engaged in a broad range of post-graduate studies including in areas of regulatory law, with a particular focus on data protection law.
