Professor Aksenova is a lawyer specializing in international law and comparative criminal law. She graduated from the International University in Moscow, earned her LLM in Public International Law at University of Amsterdam and an MSc in Criminal Justice and Criminology at Oxford University. She defended her Ph.D. at the European University Institute in 2014. Prior to joining the IE, Marina was as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Cent re of Excellence for International Courts (iCourts), Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen.
